I would like to apologize to any German speakers for my possible/probable mispronunciations of any words. Sorry.

99 Luftballons is a protest song that was originally released by the German pop-rock band, Nena, on their self-titled album in 1983.

  • Ha ha, yeah, when I first picked up my ukulele, this was one of the first songs I could do the chords for. My boyfriend heard me playing it and he told me I should try 99 Deatheaters. It was fun, but a couple of friends dared me to learn German lyrics, so mischief managed! I'm a fan of Shatner, too, though I named my ukulele Jean-Luc.

  • @MaluchkaKorotkova Heh! I'm not sure which I prefer, but I do know that I endured an awful lot of Wesley Crusher to get my Jean-Luc fix. So mebbe he wins my bestest spot by default.

  • I always loved this song! Fun and meaningful stuffs with a lil' Shatner thrown in for good measure. ps. I'd never heard the cute Deatheater version till I saw your cover, so thanks for posting :)
