Innovation is a series of How To videos that goes back to old, new, or unused strategies and ideas and tries to bring them back by adding an effective twist on them.
Details:
There are 2 things we have to worry about when we're in a game during cheese; scouting and reactions.
Scouting:
There are 2 types of scouting; active and passive.
For active scouting, you are using a worker to find out what units your opponent is making, how many workers he/she has, what buildings he/she has, etc.
Passive scouting is a little more complicated; we look at how a scout moves, acts, and how fast the scout comes in.
Reactions:
Mental checklist for reactions-
Who am i fighting?
What do i suspect?
Can there be a proxxy?
what are my opponents actions? (production, upgrades, etc)
What defensive measures should i start doing?
List of what to do and what not to do
1)do not expand before beating the enemy army.
2)do not tech hard.
3)do not underestimate your opponent, EVER!
4)do not wall off against a terran or protoss.
5)do not over-commit, panic, or overreact.
6)If you suspect a proxxy, scout out your base, proxxies can be in any corner or dark alley near you.

I like your theory of passive scouting. It has it's cons, but I guess there is a truth in it and it gives you some extra time to react! Thank you for your vid. As I am still a noob this does help me in understanding what my opponent is doing! Cheese i still a great problem for me as I get easily flustered when I suddenly see 6 zerglings appearing in my base, this helps me in calming down a little, hehe
