Yes, pride is about those things. But sexual fetishes do not and should not define people. Pride should be something EVERYONE can attend, no matter what age they are or whether they feel comfortable about someone else's fetish shoved in their face or not.
I have just as much respect for people who actively pursue their fetishes or whatever and people that don't, but I absolutely object to it being included as part of a pride parade. It's unnecessary and it promotes unfair stereotypes.
Of course it's not for children, it's aimed solely at consenting adults who may find your comments above offensive.
There is no suggestion that sexual fetish and homosexuality go hand-in-hand, to my knowledge the largest fetish group in the country is mostly straight.
Pride is about diversity, inclusion and respect. By not holding events like this it would be excluding a significant section of society. It's up to you if you wish to attend or not but I wouldn't think less of others for attending
It's taboo for a reason. Sexual fetishes are crude, crass, offensive and strictly not for children. It's unfair to assume that sexual fetish and homosexuality go hand-in-hand which is exactly what such an event does. If you want to enjoy your fetish night, I have no problem with that. But included it as part of a pride celebration is ridiculous and it totally cheapens the whole meaning of a pride parade.
