Former Iarnród Éireann locomotive 142, recently acquired by the RPSI,
in a light engine move from Dublin to Whitehead, Co Antrim. We see the
engine on NIR metals at Adelaide, and then at Whitehead shortly after
arrival.

  • Not funny, it won't last long at Whitehead. The first time it won't start or fails it will be shunted into a corner and left to rot away. The big kettles are the priority there and it's a full time (and expensive ) job keeping them going.

  • @normken It has not started and failed about a fifty times so far, literally, and is still being persisted with, and used, so I'm afraid your theory is simply not true.

  • is 141 going to whitehead? or is it there already? or is it staying in dublin?

  • 141 is not in Whitehead and there are currently no plans to send it there.

  • The "big kettles" have to be the RPSI's priority whether anyone likes it or not - however, this doesn't necessarily mean that 142 will be neglected in any way. Congrats to all concerned with both at Whitehead.

  • poor thing... it failed straight after it came to whitehead lol...
