For me, when learning Japanese lyrics it's easier if you take the lyrics and rewrite them into phonetic syllables. It especially helps on the words that are really, really long. :)

Depends on the version. I know Pop'n 9 has 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x. Other versions don't have 8. Pop'n 10 has 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, Pop'n 11 introduces 5x and I think Pop'n 14 is when .5 increments are introduced
