A first draft video of my rather irregular, unconventional, and nonsensical building constructing itself to the sound of the No More Heroes soundtrack.
This was a rough draft before the structure was slimmed down to include less and smaller members, and before my final video which will include all the exterior panels added individually. Oh and for some reason the animation skipped a good portion of the structure in the basement. The construction process repeats itself two and a half times, I believe.
The first song being played is Beam Katana Chronicles, while the second song that plays is Cashmere Cannonball (right after the building starts to deconstruct itself the first time). Both are from the original No More Heroes soundtrack, composed by Masafumi Takada on behalf of Grasshopper Manufacture.
Was compiled by Google Sketchup 7. Parts of the model were composed in Revit Structure 2010. Plans were laid out in AutoCAD 2009
how do you make this movie?

@iulianos2001 If you're using sketchup, you have to assign each "frame" of the movie to a different scene. Usually this means you have to assign geometry to a layer and then assign that layer to a scene in the animation. There's a section in the model settings where you can turn off transitions and pauses to get it going fast like mine. Then once it's setup you go to File>Export>Animation. Be sure to check the options in the file dialog to set up the frame rate and resolution. Then tell it

@StarStabbedMoon (continued) Then tell it where you want to save it and process the video.

@StarStabbedMoon hey can you help me with this? I'm a high school senior and i made a huge complex skyscraper on google sketch up, and this is exactly what i want do do with my skyscraper to show it to the class for my senior exit proyect. I didn't understand your explanation,so where did you learned it?

@LG141602 Sure I'd be happy to. Was there something in particular you were wondering about? Also, I should probably mention, 3ds Max is probably a much better program for doing animations. This thing took me a very long time and really tested the limits of sketchup.

@LG141602 Also I taught myself mostly, just by messing with settings. There are probably some tutorials and help articles about animations online, though something on the scale of this building or a skyscraper is not something sketchup is really supposed to be capable of normally. What you do will probably involve alot of trial and error, but I'm happy to help with any questions you have about it.
