    People:

Watch this film. Arthur's story will stay with you a long time. Problem is no other documentary will satisfy after seeing this one. The timing will blow your mind. Artistically directed with an appreciation for the pause and restraint. Made with the gentle but powerful touch of a master painter. Betcha couldn't tell I love this movie.

actually he didn't sound a thing like Woody Allen when you spoke to him in person, IMHO. I always thought he had such a soft, sweet, child-like voice and manner. I miss him.

I watched this movie with my wife to settle an argument that there were no American bands that didn't rip off English bands. I said look at the New York Dolls, they are out from a 1973 left field. I had no idea of the true story behind this movie.

Towards the end we were both switching between laughing and crying. Such an amazing story.

I actually looked for Artie for years. We were friends at Pratt. I had always wondered what happened to him after the Dolls. I thought he had died. Somehow, thanks to the web, I finally got hold of him. The Dolls reunion was not in his future at that point. He was an extremely gentle person and I was always amazed that his stage persona was so at odds with the person I had remembered. The documentary captures that. Thank you for posting!

This was a great film. And the story of Arthur was lifted, respectfully, into an episode of Phineas and Ferb where they boys try to get a band together that had broken up years ago. The drummer is working in a library...

I'm not a huge Dolls fan but this is one of the best docos I've ever seen. All about the power of music. The ending will stay with you for ever.
