it's cheap cause Maxtor sucks. They fail often. Go Western Digital and get a good drive for great value.

You should just buy a PC and swapable drive bays and be done with it. Why have USB or Fire Wire cables all over the place?
Mac needs a genric ATX system for folks like you Candice.

@currystubbs123 I thought USB 2 was actually a tiny bit faster but about the same. FireWire 800 is faster though. Use FireWire 400 on Mac, but not on PC, on PC use USB.

@Armaangandevia1 WDC is good though, right? After I almost lost all my fucking data. Lucky I had it on another HD. Had an 3.5" Internal Caviar 250GB fail, an external 500GB 3.5" failing, a external 250GB 2.5" fail. Seagate and Hitachi have been good to me, but Western Digital just gobbled up Hitachi, fantastic, now I'll stick with Seagate. Tell me I'll loose my data, I'll show you yet another online review showing a WD fail and proving all HDs can fail, idiot. You have to look up the batch 1st.

You really got that for 25 bucks?
My maxtor diamond max plus 9 120gb hard drive costs 40 bucks on amazon (you could even check!).
I should of got that instead of my maxtor 3.5 because i could just open it up and pull out the drive and use it in my computer to use it along with my even older IBM hard drive.
Then i can use my old diamond max in that case instead!
