How to burn XGD3 games (Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim) with ImgBurn on Windows 7 WITHOUT iHAS burner

You don't NEED an iHAS burner to burn Modern Warfare 3 and play it on your Xbox 360. You don't NEED the iHAS burner for any games apart from Forza 4. You need a console flashed with LT+2.0 firmware (thanks C4Eva) some DVD +R DL disks. A lot of different disk types fail with XGD3 games. I use Verbatims made in Singapore, not India (expensive) and I use Arita (with media code RITEK-S04-66 burned at 2.4x speed) which is very cheap compared to Verbs. You also need a DVD burner that will burn onto DVD+R DL (basically all do nowadays).

Open .DVD file in ImgBurn
Check that your layerbreak settings are set to "calculate optimal"
Set speed to 2.4x
Click Burn
Choose truncate and click OK when prompted about disk space error
Click Continue when prompted about layerbreak error

@TheKevin6074 you really should have gotten an error... unless you burned with an iHAS burner. Try it on your console. It won't load at all if the layerbreak is incorrect, you will get open tray error or mixed media disk error

Seriously, i tried this already , and using the newest IMGburn version, and i cannot even install the game into the HD, using lt 2,1 samsung and verbatimm and the whole crap. wth..

@ownedwinful samsung drive? problem right there lol nah I'm kidding. Your problem is either that your burner isn't compatible or (more likely) you use cheap (non verbatim) disks. Verbs are said to be the best to use because they are. Sure with XGD2 games you could use the other disks and not even notice a difference. with XGD3 the console notices the difference. Run your burned games through Kprobe2 at 4x speed and see the result. PI max should be below 8 and average under 1.

This whats come up on img burn when I try to burn.

Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed!

Reason: Invalid Field in CDB

Then once I place the burn game in my system and press play goes blank and returns me to the dashboard. Thumb up if u got the same problem!

I tried 3 time but when i try to play it in the xbox dashboard says play game ,then press a the screen goes black for a ssecond and then it goes back to normal.Could you please explain to me what Im doing wrong?

WTF, I'm Using Img Burn and I keep getting this message:

"There doesn't appear to be enough space on the disc to burn this image.

Image size: 4,267,015 Sectors (8334 MB) Disc size: 4,173,824 Sectors (8,152 MB)

Would you like to continue anyway?"

I'm using Memorex DL 8.5GB discs.  Will it still play if I just go ahead and burn it anyway?

@TheIronman268 i did both overburned and write till end of media option.. both dvds workin as far as i can instal game, and on console it show picture of the game and when i hit play it does load for couple of seconds and then wild message disc not supported :(

@janmancuska Nothing safe.... I mean you could try flashing burner max software to your drive, but the odds that it will work are a million to 1 and it would really screw up your drive if it didn't work. This is really the only way. Although, does your game work at all? or does it not even start? because it should at least start if you burned it right. You'll just run into issues later on.

@janmancuska Buy an Ihas burner. Some people have reported problems with clonecd, the best way to burn is getting an Ihas, flashing with burner max, and burning with img burn (free software) at 4x burn speed. There are tuts all over the place for how to do this.

@iProDanny They don't exist. The only way to do this is to cough up 20 bucks and buy an Ihas burner. I bought the 124-b for 20 bucks on ebay and am burning games perfectly. No coasters, Kprobe charts are clean, no errors. You're welcome to try the truncate method, but its gonna catch up to you eventually.

@GamingNowvideo I am having the same problem , but with only MW3 I have the right burner and discs but I have burnt it at 4x and 2.4x and still wont install or even play longer than 5 minutes.
