Arthur est au comble de l'excitation : c'est aujourd'hui la fin du dixième cycle de la Lune, et il va enfin pouvoir rejoindre le monde des Minimoys pour y retrouver Sélénia, princesse miniature,
et élue de son coeur. Mais son père choisit précisément ce jour tant attendu pour interrompre les
vacances d'Arthur, et l'obliger à quitter plus tôt que prévu la maison de sa grand-mère. Au moment du départ, une araignée dépose dans sa main un message, gravé sur un grain de riz. Un message de détresse envoyé par les Minimoys. Pas de doute : Sélénia est en danger! Arthur n'a plus qu'une idée en tête : voler à son secours, quitte à tomber dans le piège de l'infâme Maltazard, bien décidé à prendre sa revanche !
