Wonderful! A few tidbits about this recording: the pianist is Achron's younger brother, who accompanied Heifetz for 10 years. The piece as you hear it here is actually Heifetz's shortened version of Achron's original, which was twice as long. Heifetz and Joseph Achron were very close friends; Achron dedicated several works to Heifetz, including two violin concertos, and Heifetz is said to have played (if not recorded) everything Achron wrote for the violin.

Jascha Heifetz (English pronunciation: /ˈhaɪfɪts/, February 2 [O.S. January 20] 1901 – December 10, 1987) was a violinist, born in Vilnius, then Russian Empire, now Lithuania. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest violinists of all time.

Joseph Yulyevich Achron, also seen as Akhron (Russian: Иосиф Юльевич Ахрон) (May 13, 1886 – April 29, 1943) was a Russian composer and violinist of Jewish origin, settled in USA. His preoccupation with Jewish elements and his desire to develop a 'Jewish' harmonic and contrapuntal idiom, underscored and informed much of his work. His friend the composer Arnold Schönberg described Achron in his obituary as "one of the most underrated modern composers
