National Geographic poses the questions: "Was thermite the main cause for the collapse? Is thermite a viable option? Can thermite of any type burn through steel beams?"

The answer from National Geographic: " Despite 175 pounds of thermite packed around the column, it remained undamaged. Our results seem clear, if thermite can't melt this small column, it wouldn't have had a chance to melt through the much larger columns in the World Trade Center."

Before making your mind please watch "THERMITE CUTTING STEEL - VALIDATED - EXPERIMENTALLY DEMONSTRATED" This test was not done right, the funnel lets the heat go upwards instead of in the steel.

There are many videos (even on my channel) showing thermite cutting right through steel beams, and using much smaller amounts. National Geographic is a joke.

@8real I was just reacting to the flavour of the doc. where in less than a minute I could tell that the 'experiment' was set up to fail, I've seen other vids. where thermate or similar was able to cut (not melt thru) steel. I have now watched the whole vid. and now see what you were doing combining the two points of view and admit I was too hasty in my criticism, Thanks.
