Catholic Hungarian Csángó pilgrims from Kézse/Cleja arrive to Csíksomlyó at Pentecost 2002 after a 4 day walk - more than 120 km - across the mountains of the Carpatians.

The pilgrimage to the "Blessed Virgin Mary of Csíksomlyó" and to this Holy Place of the Catholic Hungarian Székelys and Csángós is at least a 500 year old tradition in Transylvania and Moldova. A document is well known written to Pope Eugene IV in the middle of the XV. century saying something like that: "a gross of people use to come together here every year".

Nowadays the fact of warning the vernacular language of the Catholic Hungarian Csángós (at least 60 000 strongly religious people!) off the church in Moldova is a disgrace to the European Community and especially to the Vatican...

  • Fontos független linkek a csángókkal kapcsolatban angol nyelven a videó melletti szövegben (biztosan nem magyar vagy román "szélsőséges" :-D forrásokból: National Geographic, Európa Tanács...)

  • Look at the info text by the video, and the "Important links about Csangos" from:

    1) National Geographic

    2) Council of Europe

There's nothing "extremist" in this (neither Rumanian nor Hungarian...)

  • They speek a very old dialect of Hungarian language (before the neology), we used to speak centuries ago... This dialect is similar to the Sekler Hungarian, but Seklers live close to other Hungarian People in Transylvania, and Csangos live in the ring of Romanian People for a very long time. So they have learnt the modern words from the Romanian neighborhood. And I think you also know about the assimilation politics of the communist Romania. That's what make them forget their dialect...

ezeknek a dolgoknak soha nem volna szabad kihalniuk!!!!!! Isten Óvja a Csángókat

  • and how would you prove this? That csango-s are not hungarians. what else are they? Romanians? sure...

  • oh common man! Romania is not Serbia, we didn't just get out of a secession war. One kid got beaten up by some random guys and now all romanians plan to kill the Hungarians. Even so the csango will not have any problem because they are not Hungarians, they have a diferent identity.

  • About the Magyar Garda. Your problem is that you consider everyone extremist who even dares to mention that Transylvania used to be Hungarian land. That is why you call the Hungarian teachers in Csango-land extremists.

  • Furthermore. Romanian policemen removed hungarian flags from commemoration of massacred Hungarians at Madefalva. By this they ban us from living as equal citizens. When does anything like this happen in Hungary? When does anyone hurt the Giula romanains. never.

  • Brainwashing? I am actually experiencing all of this. I am a Hungarian from Szabadka(Serbia). Hungarians are beaten up on a daily basis, and the police doesn't do crap. I know some young people from Romania and they tell me that the same thing is going on in Kolozsvar, or Nagyvarad.

  • What do you mean beaten on the streets man? who is brainwashing you?

Have you ever heard of Magyar Garda i heard they are very popular amongst some youth.

Buddy i transited Hungary many times and found that the ppl are very nice and not at all what i expected. I suggest you do the same exercise and visit Romania to see for yourself. Don't believe all the stories you hear and never generalize based on single incidents. You think we are extremists and we think you are-LOL
