Some things can never be wholly explained by science, no matter how much one uses and expounds on the basic facts to the exclusion of all else.
Nor is it only children that cry out for something beyond a completely impersonal universe.

I suspect that what we see in this video is the reason why religion is so important to so many people even today. I am not certain that scientific explanations can be as comforting as divine ones to a child; by invoking the idea of a compassionate protector who is inherent in the world's order, the child can rest with a sense that the world is not his enemy. The idea that the world is neither out malevolent nor benevolent may simply be too complex for a child having a scary nightmare.

I used to love watching these cartoons when I was a kid. Every Sunday after church I would go to my Grandma's house and watch it. I am glad that I was able to find some of the old shows again. That made my day. Thanks for posting this.
