I saw the exhibition Utopia: The Genius of Emily Kame Kngwarreye presented by the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. I was profoundly moved by the extraordinary power in her painting and particularly responded to how she painted the lines in the Yam painting. One of the strongest impressions I had and now a personal influence was seeing Emily still working on the earth in traditional style.
