Sky News Australia will deliver the nation's Election 2010 coverage live and worldwide via a seven-satellite network created specially for the day.

Sky News Election 2010 coverage on August 21 will be distributed internationally free-to-air and unencrypted on multiple digital satellite, cable and terrestrial networks which the broadcaster has specially commissioned for the day, covered 98% of the globe.

Angelos Fangopoulos, CEO of Australian News Channel (ANC), which owns the Sky News group of channels says: "Australia's international relations and representation are more important than ever. Election 2010 is a pivotal event that should be available worldwide and Sky News is making it happen on an unprecedented scale.

"This is a service for the international business and diplomatic community, trade missions and embassies, Australian expatriates and travellers, and citizens of other countries on every continent who may have an interest. Going global with Election 2010 is a major initiative for Sky News and stems naturally from our long commitment and innovation in covering Australian politics and democracy."
