@extec101 Give it a shot... and you can remove the resonator, it does not affect the performance, and to me car sounds better without resonator than with open filter ;)
-
I gues that mazda had intended that the airbox and resonationbox after airflowmeter are performing as well as posible to give hp and torque.
by the fact you are giving im going to ditch my openairfilter and sertch for a hiflowpanelfilter for the stock airbox.

@extec101 Horsepower was also a bit better with stock airbox than with open air filter. I had open filter for around 6 months, then i removed it to have it cleaned and installed the stock airbox back so i can drive while open filter dries, that is when i noticed the difference and after that i had it dynoed.

94hp thats very good on a stock b6-e
nice to find somewon who had put ther 1,6 8v on the dyno.
you say it performed better torque with panel filter then open air filter but how it performed on the horsepower side locking at open air vs airbox?
i also got a 323 bg with a 1,6 soch 8v converted from regular gas to etanol (E85) 2" exhaust and open air filter

How much HP did you get ? If it is SOHC it had 82 at the crank I wonder how much it gets at the wheels ?

1.6 8v B6-E engine... this dyno run was performed with open air filter... i had it dynoed again few months ago with K&N panel filter and torque is better than with open air filter, also its noticable that car runs better with panel filter. tnx for coments ;)
