  • I went to a Neon sign Shoppe and asked if they had any they'd be willing to give to me and, i got it for free. You can buy them cheaply to for $0-$30

  • how do you mesure the farads of SW capacitors?

  • You take your meter and hook it up to the + and - contact points.

  • ok what type of meter? a standard volt meter?

  • A meter which is able to read capacitance :)

  • Because it is a SW cap, it does not retain a noticeable charge. Max I recorded after turning the NST off was about 100V

  • Have you tested how long the capacitor bank will hold a charge after the power source is removed or is this particular bank not capable of maintaining a noticeable charge?
