It was the summer of 2006 and the Kings were nearing the halfway point of their 14er adventures. The Navajo Lake approach was the setting for an amazing, middle-of-the-night lightning display and - being near Telluride - a Tom Cruise sighting. Seems he & Katy and their entourage were attempting the traverse between Mt. Wilson & El Diente. Because of dicey weather, they turned back. Because I had shelter (a miner's shack @ 13,000 feet), I did not. Also encountered a pack of Outward Bound climbers on Wilson Peak. Look for the shots of Lizard Head and of a Bighorn sheep's horn. Opening & closing shots taken 4 years later in 16 x 9 from El Diente summit. All three music cuts are from a free CD in a "singing 12-pack" of beer procured from Oskar Blues brewery in Lyons, CO. Titled "Telluride Row", it is original songs performed by San Juan songwriters. The individual artists and song titles were not listed on the CD. Many thanks to The Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities. Good times . . .
