If you have questions about:
How to fix a delaminating skateboard, or how to fix delamination, Send me a message. I'll have a video on this shortly.

If a deck is still in good shape and has started to delaminate it may be a manufacturer's defect. Even if you've had a deck for 6 months, delamination should not occur. This should be taken care of by either the shop you purchased the deck from of the manufacturer directly. Your deck should be replaced for free! Any good shop will return it, if not talk to the manufacturer.

If you have had the deck for quite a while and it is starting to delaminate, you can fix it easily with a quality wood glue. You do need a clamp pr two to hold the plies together for at least 24 hours.

Squirt some glue between the plies. It doesn't need to be perfect. The glue will spread when the clamps are applied.
Use a flat stick (similar to a ruler) to evenly distribute pressure from the clamps.
Let the glue cure/dry for 24 hours. Sand away all the glue that squeezed out. It's that easy.

Will this affect the pop? It shouldn't because now the plies are stiff and solid as one piece. You should have pretty good pop after this.

If you have any questions that have to do with anything skateboarding feel free to send me a message.

  • @MARooNSUPRaMK3 Awesome comment! Makes doing all these videos worth it.

  • @TheBruinspride123 Shop employees hardly know anything about the stuff they sell. Most employees are high school kids, or just graduated high school, and skate so they apply for jobs at shops. Pro's know more because they care about their equipment but most of them don't know much either. I wasn't saying Mexico or China don't make anything of quality. I was implying to buy American made to be safe. You're right about glue, and again, that's why I suggested avoiding Mexico and China.
