Excellent recording from the Los Angeles Sports Arena, April 26, 1975. The bootleg is called Echoes from the Past. This is the third song of the night after Raving and Drooling and You Got to Be Crazy. I cut out about 2 minutes of the keyboard intro to keep it to about 10 minutes - you can hear the jump at 00:34. (Nothing of note is missing, just ambience.)

Video is from an Urban Adventure Ride on Wed. Feb. 13, 2008. From Tavern on the Green, Central Park to Columbus Circle to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, then over to the 59th St. Bridge; then from Queens over the Pulaski Bridge into Brooklyn

Check out Part 2 for the rest of the song. After I moved to California...

  • I hate with a passion, those rotten kids at my school (im 16 by the way) who say that my music sucks because its too slow or it sounds "weird" or whatever! And then their music, which is rap and hip-hop and techno and i say, very sarcastically, "wow you know it takes alot of talent to say the same words over and over again and just add a bunch of swear words to it and apparently its music, oh and especially the fact that they dont play any instruments is awesome..." i love pink floyd!

  • I'm an old-timer.... when Wish You Were Here came out in 1975 I was in college. After DSOTM my friends and I waited and waited for another release. It was two years and seemed like forever. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when I bought the WYWH album, removed the dark blue shrink wrap and put the record on the turntable.... And here I am 36 years later still listening to it.....

  • Fucking brilliant.........that's all I have to say!!

  • Loved your comment, Shifty. This is Pink Floyd - they made their own category of music - they put the t in talent - damn good group

  • This song pretty much displays everything I could ever aspire to be as a musician.

  • Nice music for a night ride on bicycle

  • There is nothing like closing your eyes, putting on the headphones, listening to Animals. its cosmic.

  • We married in 1979 and this song was the introducing music in the chapel were we married. There were a few people that recognised it, but my wife and me (I?) were very excited that we chose this number!! After 32 yaers we are still together! Perhaps because of this band and there music; P. F. A very mature music! I keep on listening!!

  • Great sound recording for 1975!! Must have been done directly off the sound board........... Big time Pink Floyd fan, but love the visual too!! I'm from NYC and know exactly where everything was filmed, from Midtown Manhattan to DUMBO in Brooklyn.............surreal, like Floyd!!

  • I was actually at this very concert at the Sports Arena! I have always remembered it as my favorite concert but since i was about 17 at the time I figured I was just romanticizing the past. But hearing it now I realize how great it was. I have seen Floyd and Roger Waters shows many times since but this one they were in it. Wish You Were Here wasn't even out yet- we went to see Dark Side. Only sad thing is I was kicked out for smoking hash and missed the encore which I think was Echoes. :(

  • @loehly And thanks to Allmighty God, everything came back to happy ending! Bravo, boy!
