This is a on ride POV of the JAWS attraction at Universal Studios Florida. This attraction along with the Amity area will close permanently on Jan 2, 2012. This attraction was scheduled to open with the park in 1990 but had to be completely redesigned due to some serious technical problems and opened in 1993. I understand the major problem was with the turntable that was to be where the boathouse is now. Jaws was supposed to latch on to the boat and drag in in a circular motion around the lagoon. That element was removed as the turntable wouldn't line up right to release the boat no matter what kind of alteratios were made.

  • This skipper is me<3

  • @edwinluiscolon91 You did a great job as skipper. I hope you all aren't suffering to much from P.J.W.S. (Post Jaws Withdrawal Syndrome). It was a classic and will be missed.

  • @raygull Yep, you're right and thanks for spotting that. I've corrected the error. I thought the town of Amity was supposed to be on Long Island, NY instead of Massachusetts.

  • @AltonTowersChild yeah, Jaws and the entire Amityville area will close for good on January 2, 2012. The London side of Harry Potter is rumored to replace it.

  • @SoltauCruiser I was really suprised when they made the announcement. It looks like they may be turning that area into the London side of Harry Potter with Diaganon Alley, Grinnott's Bank, and the Kings Cross station. The ride itself has always been fun to me with all the audience interaction with the boat captain. I believe they were allowed to do a little bit of adlibbing.

  • @puresubscriber It is rumored that the London side of Harry Potter might replace the Amityville area. It may include the Kings Cross station, Diaganon Alley, and Grinots Bank.
