Combined clips from the Summit Sports Training Amature Strength Show and Pro/Am at Summit Sports Training Center in Villanova, PA. I competed in the open group. The first event was a 305lbs 12" log clean & press. I couldn't get it. I got 7th. Next was a 780lbs hummer tire deadlift. Couldn't budge it. Tied for 6th here. After that it was a 910lbs yoke walk for 60'. I got 37'. 6th for this one. Then it was a tire flip/sled drag medley. Completed the 40' course with the 900lbs tire but only 26' of the 60' course with the 450lbs sled. I got 5th. Finally there was an atlas stone load. Loaded all the stones but had to settle for second. Ended up 6th place out of seven. I need a lot of work.

  • You Gave it your best !! congrads !

  • @BRUTUSPLAC

    Thanks.

  • i think for the log you are just going to have to bring your strict press up a lot and the deadlift you've made a lot of progress with but unfortunatly you have a weak deadlift for a heavy weight. However, you still have a bunch of weight you can gain.

  • @fverv

I'm not sure about the strict press helping the log that much Devin but I have been working on it. It's up 20lbs this year so far. Deadlift still needs work so I'm still plugging away at that. Weight gain has been tough lately, kind of stagnant since February.

It was a separate class, Heavyweight (Pro/Am). Two of the guys are pro strongmen and the rest of us were amatures. The winner got an invite to a pro show in Philly in July. The judges were Walt Gogola (former pro) and Barry Perkins and they're pretty big too.

  • @kureigu85 yeah i won the middle weight adult division.. but like i said it was nothing compared to what u guys did haha.. was there separate divisons for the weight u guys did? because it looked like there was moer than 7 people for those bigger weights and i saw some big bastards

  • @trailfb12

Thanks for catching that. I had the wrong date. Yeah tire flips and sled drags are tough by themselves but then together they are just not nice haha. If it hadn't been so hot earlier on, I would have been outside to watch you guys.

  • i went to this event on 6/6/10.. i was in a diff division though we had way less weight.. only 475 deadlift 500 pound tire and im not sure about everything else.. that tire flip and sled drag sucked ass though haha

Thanks Chris, there's a fine line between guts and just being stupid.

  • That was a heavy show Craig, it takes guts just to sign up for a show like that. Congrats on that stone run, you killed it.
