This is one of my al time fave songs - A song that I want to have my loved ones remember me by... Although the subject matter doesn't fit exactly with my life I LOVE the addictability of this song, the country themes, and the feeling of alienation and pride when you see Anika Moa in crazy New York City. I have so much respect and admiration for her, and could listen to this song on repeat for days!

Two Words: Beautiful Song!
Three Comments:
1. Her green jacket makes the video look so fresh throughout.
2. Anika looks very cute, and the music video enhances her cuteness.
3. Beautiful song :-)

anika should come out of nz more often! love from brazil

I agree that this is a beautiful song but ffs, its about her dad and that makes it important that we have the facts about her heritage.

Tia Moa, Anika's father is most definitely Maori. He was lead singer and guitarist in a band called 'Horizon' in 1980s Christchurch, having played at gigs that I was involved with organising at the time. As she says in the song, "plays the guitar like carlos santana should have done". He was an awesome presence, with flinging dreads and they're some happy memories. How people can get this so wrong is beyond me when there was even a documentary piece about Anika's life in Hornby and beyond.
