Jackeen is a mildly pejorative term for someone from Dublin, Ireland. The Oxford English Dictionary defines it as "A contemptuous designation for a self-assertive worthless fellow," citing the earliest documented use from the year 1840.
Derivation and meaning Today, Jackeen is often used to describe Dublin GAA players and supporters. The term has also been shortened to "Jack" or the plural "Jacks" by Dublin fans as a way to refer to themselves.

Yep MISSLD125, great funeral song! Lets people recall you were a raver and a groover, as well as someone who has passed away! Celebrate yer life, I reckon and if you enjoy this melody enough to even consider it at your funeral, then it more than deserves its place. Plus, it makes ya want ta dance a jig! What could be wrong with that?! Peace and love, Mitch

@rickwhv So true. This song has been around for centuries and performed by countless atrists,
Metallica just happen to be one of them, most likely they first heard the Thin Lizzy version and covered that. That said, as Metalica always does with covers they made it sound like an original Metallica song. Great song no matter who is playing it. The Irish have got soul!
