@bae313 He's not a cop though he cant just give orders and then attack the guy can he?
-
@bae313 Your funny sir. As if you could take Marc Denny in a street fight. He's one of Dan Inosanto's students and gurus and Marc Macyoung recommends the Dog Brothers learn to talk before you type your dumb comments :) and it wasnt at 1:15 were Marc Denny does a left hook you dont even know how to count it was around 1:18 :D
-
is that poi dog with the bandana
-
@DBMAVIDS does Marc Denny teach alot of Panantukan at the Dog Brothers HQ?
-
1:25 I saw that episode on TV!
-
@bae313 Don't come on my channel leavin shitty remarks when you don't even have a comments box on your profile-just pictures of yourself in a ninja mask waving a knife around like a retard.Your a walter mitty who's upset and offended by the success of DBMA-if you don't like it fuck off and watch something else.Don't come around accusing people of Trolling when YOUR THE ONE MAKING NEGATIVE PUT DOWN REMARKS trying to pick fights you two faced hypocritical cunt. You missed the first lesson-Humility
-
@bae313 And no he is not wrong,DBMA were famous for stick fighting yes,but ALOT of people were doing stick fighting.DBMA were famous because they did stick fighting WITH NO RULES and WITH LIMITED PROTECTION.In effect it was MMA WITH WEAPONS when mma was still nhb.And as much as that hook might suck next to your god like abilty to beat your kids up,I've been in and seen alot of fights on the door over the years and I've seen MANY won in a similar fashion, which is what the dvd is warning you of
-
@bae313 Just watch the DVD before you start trying to tell me how much better you are than DBMA. Like I said before this is a collection of clips not the dvd. The left hook IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT CAN GO WRONG WITH A COMMONLY USED GUN FENCE.........NOT HOW TO HOOK. Though to be honest, your determination of how weak the hook is due to it not being pretty enough tells me your more of an idiot than I first thought. In a real fight that left hook to the jaw, although ugly, would be a cute shot
-
@bae313 Listen m8,I've been training "reality" since before the first UFC when I was still a teenager and Geoff Thompson first came on the scene, and I've been at it ever since,I competed for many years I also work as a bouncer so don't tell me about reality.None of those names are new to me reality is you leaving snidey comments about a DVD you obviously never seen putting down DBMA while posting vids of yourself training FMA with your kids and posing in a ninja mask with a knife aged 50 grow up

@Rapist87 If u really want to learn how to handle things on the street, start with the simple & violent combatives lessons of Kelly McCann (Jim Grover), then add the highly street adaptable Tony Blauer SPEAR system, & finally, get a little more advanced by adding some JKD based instruction from Paul Vunak. That's what I have learned & teach. Wow that is very similar to the training curriculums that operators from Force Recon & the Navy SEALs follow. I think they know what they are doing? DBMA???
-
@Rapist87 U ARE WRONG, listen to the text again. start @:58. Before the hook he is talking about "I need to think about the ability to preempt." This refers to throwing a strike @ a threat when an assault upon u is imminent. He goes on about, "If I need to articulate (to LEO/prosecutor’s office) what it was that caused me to intercept what he was doing..." @ 1:15 the sad hook appears as his response, nothing mentioned of a street criminal solution. I said the cop's premptive move is MUCH better
-
@bae313 Firstly, this is a series of clips from the dvd and therefore there is not supposed to be a specific continuity between the segments of the dvd shown - just an overall flavour. Secondly, the "sad left hook" you refer to is actually a demonstration of how a street criminal might "solve" a commonly used street stance, not an instruction in how to left hook someone. Thirdly, The cop in the clip is used to illustrate pre emption, not how to grab someones neck. Lastly, I think your a knob

@JSpradley123 search for these 2 youtube videos( "Threat Indicators" & "Know your Pre Attack Indicators") for more examples. The 2nd 1 shows a real scenario. As Denny was demonstrating, when u see indicators u need to take action like telling the guy "I've had enough, I'm leaving" or "get out of my face" as u retreat. If he follows, a fight is already on & u need to be ready for the physical attack portion. I don't like a lot of DBMA techniques, but the prefight information is correct.
-
@bae313 Ah, that certainly makes sense! Thanks, that's a good tidbit to file away in the brain.
-
@outsidepers Say whatever u want about the hook, but it is still slow & telegraphed & has poor form. If u are the zit faced, acne scarred, scottish, bore in the outsidepers vid, u were maybe 5 years old when I 1st heard about the dog brothers & the reason anybody cared is specifically because they were doing full contact stickfighting & there were videos of the action. I was training at that time & u were in diapers, that's why u don't know crap about what was going on back then.
-
@JSpradley123 It's a sign that the guy may be feeling nervous which often precedes an impending attack.
-
@EBB47 IF YOU ARE HEALTHY ENOUGH, have some one chop you with a palm heel at the base of your skull just to the side of your neck bone, you can even do it to yourself with just an arm strike motion (no body weight driving the strike). Start soft and add force. It won't take much until you are feeling the effects. The brachial stun's effects will be worse due to the nerves only being covered by soft tissue.
-
@pongoid search "Las Vegas Takedown" to see the vid with audio. It was justified as the guy had been causing trouble and would not respond to the officer's requests.
-
@bae313 No, there are plenty of FMA organisations that do full contact stick fighting, DBMA is the only group that also throws in ground game, extended clinch fighting, kicking and punching. Along with a variety of other weapons outside of sticks.
Also nice to see we've changed our argument on the strike, but, its still flawed, the hook is being shown as a pre-emptive strike as a result it will compromise on its "hello factor" as it already has initiative to generate more force.
-
@outsidepers U are exactly wrong, DBMA are famed exclusively because of their full contact stick fighting. Get a clue, if DBMA didn't do full contact stick fighting they would be unknown. They became a viral sensation 10 years ago specifically because of the full contact stickfighting. The problem is that hook sucked. He calls it a "nice hook" & it's not. It is a telegraphed arm punch. It is a sad beginers looking hook. For MMA guys, that was a terrible choice.
-
@bae313 That would be true were it not that Most DBMAers are also Ju jitsu, judoka, BJJ and Muay Thaiers on the side.
DBMA isn't famed for full contact stick fighting, but for doing full contact stick fighting as part of an MMA set up. Where are you getting the idea that the left hook is being compared to the cops move?
I suggest you do some research, and spend a litttle more time focusing on the technique, rather than who said what and when.
-
thats a real shitty mustache

While we can't hear the audio from the cop video at about a minute and a half in, the cop's shot to the suspect's throat did NOT come after what appeared to be any sort of aggression. Taking no physical action is not grounds for assault. What the cop did was assault, and IF the suspect wasn't completely incapacitated, and he hurt or killed the cop/s, it wouldn't be without just cause. The kid might might walk, regardless of what he was suspected of doing before that. Dumb move, law officer.
-
how many pounds of pressure is estimated for the brachial stun to work? i'm curious :)
-
I'm curious about the mention of "grooming behavior". Did I hear that right? Is that often a sign of aggressive intent?
What the heck was that all about at 1:25?! That cop just took that kid down out of nowhere.

@h8uall66
That "kid" had his hands in his pockets (hidden weapon issues) and refused repeated commands to take them out. There's additional issues presented, but IMHO the kid had it coming.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The left hook @1:15 is the saddest strike I have ever seen from an "expert". It is nothing like what the cop doing in the clip that follows. The technique the cop is using is what has been taught by Marc MacYoung 4 a long time & allows u 2 retain control of the threat's head (as in the old Jiu-jitsu saying,"where his head goes his body follows"). Guys r thrilled by the DB's full contact stick matches, but watching fatasses & lawyers play bad boys is a joke. DB stuff only works against punks.

Jbravo:
Yes it does, but I think it is something our editor, Ron Gabriel, came up with.

Yes he does, doesn't he? He is also the guy that got dropped by Dog Dan with the Brondo Buzzsaw combination in the Nat Geo documentary- so he has been razzing me to include his good fights in the future lest he look like Tank in his final fights. Tangent: When I was a judge at UFC 10, I sat next to Tank at the bar the night before. Tank was in his prime. I remember walking behind him and thinking that I could take 2-3 free shots and still not faze him. The animal vitality was impressive.
