I have OCD and I look completely normal and I see "normal" as having various definitions depending on personal belief of what is "normal" I consider myself to look like everyone else and just because I have a mental illness it does not mean I suddenly sprout horns or have a constant psychotic look to me. xsullengirlx I aplaud you for making videos such as this as an outlet for people and to bring awareness to the fact that people that have a mental illness are not freaks :)

... that friend of hers was diagnosed a long time ago while I found out I have it just recently. So when I told her this was it she just said no, that's not it, you two are not the same at all. So yeah I guess she thought mental disorders are visible with everyone. They're not, specially the kind of psychosis I suffer from. Most people who know me have absolutely no idea I'm psychotic.

That's the thing specially with BPD. My best friend knows 2 people with BPD - me and another friend she has. And we experience these things differently, for example she has extremely visible mood swings, yells at people and stuff and she doesn't suffer from psychosis, and I'm more of a 'silent' borderline - I have episodes of extreme persecutory delusions (especially in the evenings and nights), and even though I have a pretty big irritability problem I tend to just walk away from it. So ...

I am totally with you on this. People also saying "You don't seeeeeem unwell"! They don't get that it's INSIDE us... it's our EMOTIONS that are unstable. Just coz we don't bob around looking rubbish and making groaning noises, they can't accept it.

Funny when you people say your very pretty , there's nothing wrong you should love yourself, hmmmm wish it was that easy

Do you care if i messaged you??

Thank you for this! I think alot of us try so so hard to not fit the "coo-coo" look, therefore are looked past even though there is something very wrong. I feel outward apperences will always get wayyy to much credit.

I have the exact same problem, a lot of people look at me and say that there's nothing wrong with me because I look "fine". When I was applying for disability benefits I was afraid that they would think the same thing and I dressed down, so I sacrificed my appearance to "look the part" I'm really glad that you spoke about this, because I'm sure a lot of people have this issue and hearing it from another person really helps.

@666ThaScarecro666 LOL and your whole channel is you trolling. I have thousands of people who care about what I have to say, and they relate to me... sorry you're so desperate. Get well soon. :)

In the field of psychiatry there is a term "self-care." It means exactly that - the ability of the patient to take care of his or herself. This includes not just ability to have good hygiene and things like that, but pay bills on time and such. The ability of the patient to do self-care depends on the illness itself and the severity of the disease. There is so much ignorance when it comes to mental health, hope this cleared it up for someone out there.
