I'll probably redo this video pretty soon, but as of now, i'm tired of recording it. There are still several mistakes, but apart from that, i'm nearly satisfied with the interpretation.

edit: i just found out masashi hamauzu did many of the FFX pieces and especially all the FFX piano collections.. so hamauzu is the real genius. also listen to his vielen dank album, it's amazing.

  • really like it. Ever heard of Benyamin Nuss? He did much FF stuff for piano, from uematsu mostly. He's a genius. Dont miss listening to him =).

  • @Gildael thanks. yup, i've heard him live a few times in germany (Symphonic Fantasies etc), he's a fantastic pianist. I have his CD and it's nice, but i don't really like the arrangements there, the piano collections versions are much better. cheers!

  • is there no piano version of the actual in game version!? or does everyone on youtube play the "piano collections" version??

  • @bobbycorwen there is one, send me a message if you want to take a look.

  • @bobbycorwen the PC version is way more awesome though ;)

  • A decent first attempt! This is a tricky piece to play, so well done for that. BTW, the left hand at 1:58 should be an octave higher and the first time you play from 2:15 onwards should be an octave higher (both hands), then it goes down an octave lower like before.

  • @PerfectoB4st4rdo haha, it's so long ago that i played this.. you're right, i got into the wrong octave and continued from there ^^ the ending should probably be quicker as well. maybe i'll pick this piece up again, i'd pretty much need to start from scratch again though ^^

  • I know axactly how hard it is to play and you did it much better than I could, so it's in a way nice to hear the mistakes

  • @Sorcerer88 i appreciate it's complexity, i do. But it just doesn't envelope me like the original does.

  • @Sorcerer88 Hehe, well at least you know what to do now! I find that recording tricky pieces really kills the love for the piece because I tend to associate the frustration of not getting a good take with the piece. I was playing around with this piece today and found that I could still play most of it after not touching it for many months. It's still very messy...maybe I'll record one day, hehe.
