Hi,
I was introduced to the 8th Chakra most thoroughly through the work of Caroline Myss & her book "Anatomy of the Spirit."
Honestly, that book changed how I look at life, spirit & healing in a profound way.
As for cults, etc, I have no idea about that at all.
