Truth is Here EP

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem (With the name of Allah, the Merciful Redeemer). // I said the good lord made me what I am and I play this game for keeps. Got to use what I have to get what I want. All the dreamer got is his dreams. // And the good lord made me what I am and play the hand I'm dealt. Sometimes the hardest thing to be in this world is just yourself. // Best believe the Qur'an influenced all of my songs. My fans run and tattoo them all on their arms. Want to trael, be there every time I perform. Now look me in the eye and tell me, how am I wrong? And who would've thought just giving them the truth from my heart, both the ugly and the beautiful part, would give them food for thought, let them chew it apart, and they'd crowd all around me and my movement would start. And how you gonna hate me for being what God made me? It's not a game, I ain't saying it playfully. They relate to the joy and the pain in me and seeing me make it be watching a slave get free. I holler like Bial in the tower. Hiya ala al fallah, Allah is the power. Give voice to the dream and let it be seen. I admit it's obscene but deen recognize deen. So it isn't pristine when I spit a sixteen. Clean words don't describe the @$*# that I've seen. But lying in the alley I whispered Shahadah. Bullets fly by from the drive by. So Imam Mohammed might pound on the podium, Popmaster Fabel work it out on the linoleum, Chappelle bust funnies, Mos Def bust rhymes and Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all time. // I said the good lord me what I am and I play this game for keeps. Got to use what I have to get what I want. All a dreamer got is his dream. // And the good lord made me what I am and play the hand I'm dealt. Sometimes the hardest thing to be in this world is just yourself. // Something spiritual happens when them hands get to clappin'. Can you tell me, what language do you laugh in? The human reaction of smiles and cries. What language are the tears when they're falling from your eyes? You've probably seen the sunrise hundreds of times, but let a painter paint or a poet describe the very moment where heaven and earth might collide. And God let the breath of life come outside. Satan doubted it. Angels bowed to it. I'm so beautifully human that I'm proud of it. Soul of a soldier, heart of a scholar. I wrote this poem with the blood of a martyr. Imam Mohammed might pound the podium, Popmaster Fabel work it out on the linoleum, Chappelle bust funnies, Mos Def bust rhymes and Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all time. // I said the good lord made me what I am and I play this game for keeps. Got to use what I have to get when I want. All a dreamer got is his dream. // And the good lord made me what I am and play the hand I'm dealt. Sometimes the hardest thing to be in this world is yourself.

  • stop comparing hiphop to good rap music. Hiphop aint dead, good rap music classics is dead. "Fuck Souljah Boy" is FUCK souljah boy because his shit is SO, FUCKING, WHACK, that he's a bitch ass lame brain. shit that little kids listen to because they dont know any better. its like KRS said to some dumb bitch that interviewed him because she mixes up rap with hiphop, etc--"Use your words wisely".

  • @boise4lyfe Of course the shit's whack but can you legitimately tell someone "you have bad taste," when music is about connecting to someone. If it takes a whack beat and a beyond mindless hook to connect to someone, so be it. Sure, fuck the dumbasses trying to steal and rename true art, but listen to what you will. Love the music and enjoy your life, without messing with others. But on the other hand, I can not condone the shit poisoning our youth's minds.

  • The roots of hip hop is about coming together, creating, and enjoying regardless of your hardships. We're beyond the roots though. We're staking a claim on what is legit. Everyone hates on the top40 mc's because they're preaching the wrong messages to our youth, our future. The roots are always there, but the analogy alone insinuates growth. It is the duty of every true head to guide those lost souls to something real and intelligent. Without true inspiration how will they go further?

  • Can you tell me, what language do you laugh in? The human reaction of smiles and cries. What language are the tears when they're falling from your eyes? Beautiful.

  • @mdreiguy You worry about your own salvation rather than another man's. We're all going to the same place, regardless of the paths we take. Stop watching other people's shoes and get to stepping.
