How is local democracy changing today? Citizens have different expectations and capacities, and local leaders are having to adjust. Is it possible that local democracy is becoming more centered on citizen interests - and if so, what would that look like? What kinds of civic ingredients might be incorporated in more vibrant, equitable, deliberative local democracies?
Nice work, Matt, brings home the ideas of public engagement. Consistent with the DIY "maker culture" view of public deliberation. These sorts of movies will be useful to show at facilitated community meetings, and also to public officials and potential participants when pitching an engagement process. More, please!
