  • Watch more Herzog movies. He believes in conservationism (but not "environmentalism"), has no use for hippies (he calls them tree-huggers & whale-huggers), and uses the same mantra of "chaos and murder" when describing nature in general.

He specifically believes that the ocean is the most hellish and miserable place on earth, and that our predecessors evolved into land animals just to escape the torment.

If anything, he's much harsher on the sea than the jungle.

  • I don't get it... the narration is Herzog talking about the amazon... I don't know how/why that applies to sharks... I think it diminishes what he was saying... I don't think he was talking about nature in "general"

  • @STUSOS23 Dude I have personally talked with him and he is just one of those guys who makes no sense to you at the moment but later on does.

  • I... think you don't... know what you're... talking about.

Herzog hates the sea, and has a pretty dismal view of the universe in general, but in a reverent sort of way.
