Engineering Trains on the Grimsby & Immingham Light Railway - 8th January 2012

Marsh Lane level crossing (near Stallingborough), User worked crossing near Woad Lane, Woad Lane, Moody Lane & Cleveland Bridge (all in Grimsby's Pyewipe Industrial Estate, North East Lincolnshire).
Sunday 8th January 2012.
Loco's featured: DB Schenker Class 66's Nos. 66021, 66075, 66162 & 66201.

The Grimsby to Immingham Light Railway does not see any regular traffic at all, and hasn't done for several years. However, on Sunday 8th January 2012, 7 engineering trains from an engineering possession between Barnetby & Scunthorpe traversed the railway, with 4 in daylight hours. I managed to capture all 4 trains in daylight, each at 2 locations (3 for the first train!). Locations include Marsh Lane level crossing near Stallingborough, a user worked crossing about a 1/4 of a mile west of Woad Lane, Woad Lane level crossing, Moody Lane & Cleveland Bridge (at Great Coates Sidings No.1 Signalbox). Mostly in Grimsby's Pyewipe Industrial Estate, the trains in the video's are 6T57, 6T58, 6T59 & 6T60, all running from Barnetby to Doncaster via the Light Railway, with loco's 66021, 66075, 66162 & 66201. The loads conveyed were track panels on the first train, and ballast on the other 3.

If anyone is free on this Sunday (15th January 2012), head out to the Light Railway after 10am, as 3 engineering trains are due to traverse it in daylight hours. The first is due to pass Immingham East Junction at 10:56, with the last in daylight being at 14:11. A fourth is due to run at dusk at 16:54, and several more during the evening.

Will engineering trains be running on the light railway on 15th January? Rail enquiries website says buses replace passenger trains on that day.

@back2frinky There should be. I'm not sure at what times, but there should be 3 or 4 during daylight hours again.
