A short 3.6 minute visually stunning introductory trailer choreographed to powerful music that introduces the viewer/student to the characteristics that all life on Earth shares. I made this for use by teachers of Biology and the Life Sciences as a motivational introduction to the wonders of life and the amazing characteristics that we all possess. As a High School Biology teacher myself, I have found these videos a great way to capture student interest immediately.

Please rate this video and feel free to comment. If you like it, please help me spread the word via social media. The more students and teachers who can enjoy the drama of life, the better.

I wish to thank all of the video and music producers whose quality postings enabled me to create this video for educational use.

To best enjoy this video, turn up your speakers. The music is very dramatic.

Subscribe to my channel for other video trailers in Biology, Earth Science and Astronomy. I will be releasing new ones periodically.

I can customize this video to add your name or school name at the end credits for a very modest fee. If interested, email me at "inquiry@gregs-educational.info"

  • This is a stunning mix of BBC footage (Planet Earth) but unfortuantely, is not scientifically accurate.

Fire does not "reproduce" - it spreads. Leaving fire alone - without fuel - does not cause the reproduction of fire in search of more fuel.

Nor do sand and ice respond to their environment. They are shaped by forces within their environment. Remove the wind, and dunes do not "respond". Keep the temperature high and ice will not "respond".

Sorry - biology is not earth science.

  • @garyokee

Sorry you missed the point. The mention of fire, sand, etc. were analogies in introducing the concept of what it takes to be considered alive.

  • I Love This Video ♥ What $onqq is that playinqq thou ? Thats what grabs my attention . pls reply back i would love to know

  • @manny42111

The music is a mix of two compositions. The main one is called Fantasy Chorale, by West One Music.

  • @garyokee @garyokee this was beautiful and perfect for starting the discussion in class I really wish you would remove the references to fire reproducing and sand responding for the same reasons listed above (perhaps "does fire spread or reproduce?" as the text so that kids can discuss). I teach ELL students and an initial misconception can take a long time to rectify. Otherwise this was phenomenal work, thanks for sharing...

  • Again..... THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART

  • Nice video for beginning of HS Bio class! Which movie trailers did you get the music from....especially the 2nd half of the video?

  • Very nice.

  • love it

  • Stunning!

  • amazing.

  • No its not from national Geographic as far as I know. Rather, it is an edited clip from two different movie trailer sound clips that I edited for the video.

  • What is the name of the music played in this video?

Is it from the National Geographic Website?
