  • Stainless steel is mostly iron, so of course it is magnetic.

Besides hydrogen generation is useless unless your electricity is free.

Energy wise, you use more energy to generate the gas than what you get from burning it.

  • the efficiency of electrolysis to produce hydrogen is about 80%. yes its a loseing proposition if you measure the energy available from the burning of the hydrogen. But if you consider the improvement in the efficientcy of burning gasoline with a small amount of hydrogen the averaged return is a huge improvement. I've had to explain this to more than one electrical engineer. Its a sort of freakanomics of energy.

  • have you put it in your car already? ive heard two sides of the story that it does improve mpg and that it doesnt. either way i still plan on building one. what kind of cap are you using for the jar? ive heard that plastic melts, and that the jar can even explode! any tips?
