Taino Dance Group is from Humboldt Park in Chicago and has been around since 1966. The little man dancing is 'Alex'! Filmed at the Youth Showcase on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.

@tainokids1966 Hi i just wanted to edit the group existance, it began in 1996. I was one of the origenal memebers of Taino Dance group, They are Great , i love to be able to have been apart of this group, and that lil man their named Alex can dance his little puerto rican butt off, I love this video!!!!! Nate and the other lil members did a great job as well!!! loved it!

Bomba Is the African influence brought to to Puerto Rico by the African salves. It is a rich form of expression with the sounds of the drums.. the dance is a form of communication. You can find the history and dances of the Taino tribes in the internate. Thanks for your interest in the history of our culture.

Isn't this an African derived from of dance? Wasn't it brought to Puerto Rico by African captives? Is there a video of actual Taino dance?
