The Center on Wrongful Convictions will present a free reading of My Kind of Town on Monday, March 8th at 6 p.m., at Northwestern University School of Law, 375 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL. Any questions contact Dolores Kennedy (312) 503-2485

Between 1973 and 1991, more than 100 African American men were tortured by Chicago police officers.   In the play My Kind of Town, journalist John Conroy tells the story of the victims, the police officers, the prosecutors, and the families whose lives were poisoned by the scandal.

  • Thank you for your play. At least someone tries to inform the nation about these injustices.

  • That's a damn shame.

  • Now, what can be done about the 5 million plus Cook County residents who will not do the right thing and elect a States Attorney who can be tough on crime and prosecute criminals even when these criminals are passing themselves off as Law Enforcement?
