At the south end of the Solomon Islands, Japan's presence on Guadalcanal threatens the American-Australia supply lines. Extensive footage of naval, air and land fighting documents the fierce combat as U.S. forces seize control of Guadalcanal and other key islands in the Solomon chain. American troops learn the hard way how to beat a determined enemy at jungle warfare.

  • Got three Japanese flags from this battle. Real testament to what kind of fighting took place there. God Bless Our Troops

  • @tk177razr Not to seem rude but you might want to check that as the 32nd fought in New Guinea...they did a great job there..

  • i dont like that it mainly focuses on the navy and marines my grandfather fought on guadalcanal with the 32nd Division of the Michigan National Guard which was nicknamed because of its constant pushes through german lines in world war 1 it also served the longest amount of time of any U.S. force in world war 2

  • thank you for uploading this . my grandpa fought in guadalcanal

  • I mean no offense, but I used to have a VHS version of this video, and it was very crappy.
