  • Oh and AMAZING song! I'll love your works forever, Jim Steinman. <3 :)

  • Haha... when they come out in their short shorts, they look like the werewolves out of the twilight saga turned gay! :L

  • Some musical partnerships just work like a dream. I. & G Gershwin, Wilson/Love, Mccartney/Lennon etc but Steinman and Meat Loaf belong up there, Both are solid by themselves but put together they were just awesome and Meat Loaf struggles without him. His new album is just a catastrophe. California Dreamin? Meat?? Really????

  • This guy looks like Weird Al Yankovic's dad

  • I think this is Jim's closest to ever composing a song that sounds like a Springsteen song. Of course, Jim has some of Bruce's bandmates playing on his album, though I could always imagine how cool it would've been to hear The Boss singing this song!

  • @MeatTycoonDevious I was just thinking whether this would have been better if Meatloaf had sung but decided Jim has..... then I read what you said and it summed up exactly what I was thinking. I love Meat but Jim has a vulnerability that Meat doesn't have. Great comment.

  • Jim should have sung his own songs all along. He brings out the emotional depth and psychotic quality in his songs no other singer can. He's a great actor, too - judging by his recorded monologues. And, of course, a kickass pianist.

Jim Steinman the performer was, and remains, terribly underused. Meat's singing sounds unnecessary compared to Jim's.

  • I like the song very very much but I don't like the video. The song sounds very heroic but the video almost seems to make fun of it. Maybe I completely misunderstand it, but I prefer Jim's fine humour in his lyrics. :-) I prefer hearing this great song without seeing the video!

  • I'd forgotten that Jim was kinda hot, in a cool-creepy way... :-)

  • @Alexbg7 maybe if you would've posted this comment before Hang Cool Teddy Bear came out you would be right. Sure he hasnt had much success without songwriters but meatloaf is smart and plays to his strengths and brings in writers. I have so much more respect for meatloaf than other mediocre artists that try to sing, play guitar and write and ultimatly arent exeptional at any of them.
