I had mine under hi light and it seemed to always move away from it so i put it lower down and it just seem to Flop over on its mouth. I mean i had to Turn him right side up at least 15 times before he finally fell between some rock and i wasn't going to take the hole tank apart to get him. So i crossed my figures and wished my Maroon Clown luck in getting him out. Until i truly understand why BTA are so fickle i will NOT be getting another one.

i dont mean to impose but the bta's need strong light im not sure if you had some off or if your tank is naturally dark i keed 3.45wpg which is the norm so #1 mistake low light # mistake huge piece ...an anemone that size should get a piece 1/4 that size .now if this ever happens again find a place where the bta's base is sorrounded by rocks from 360 degrees and place it there this will increase your chances and no this is not normal ....#1 killer of bta by intermidiate keepers is over feeding

@fredthewebguy u paid $50 for a BTA? At my local fish store, there only $20 each. Maybe u should find a different store that sells them for a cheaper price.

mine is looking like this today! I completely freaked out. Had fed it for the first time yesterday. Thanks so much for sharing this video!
if you look at 1:32 that huge piece of shrimp that it spit out is red/pink in color. that's probably what killed the anemone; you fed it a huge piece of cooked shrimp... it should have been fed only fresh, not frozen RAW shrimp free of any preservatives/flavors. after this event it should have been able to regenerate itself if the tank conditions were excellent but unfortunately i guess it was too weak..

@doRYEmon I was feeding frozen bait shrimp. That piece had been in the tank for a few hours. I plan on keeping FOWLR for now. I will try a BTA again in a bigger tank after the tank is more mature. THanks for the info
