Yeah from seeing the trailer it gives away that Yeamon is gone, and his girl that Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) Lusts after is in a relationship with another main character Sanderson now instead. It will probably work out fine.

@SheriffGonzo yeamon is one of the memorable characters in da book., what gives?
-
@SheriffGonzo Yeamon was written into the book at the last minute and the screenplay and characters are going to be based on an earlier copy I think.

@djey308 i dont know why i said that.. i guess i thought it was one of those fake trailers..
-
@nadskofhqwak if this isn't sarcasm, you may want to stick to disney movies for a while.
-
whoah they must have a shitty budget or somethin... this trailer is awful
-
@SheriffGonzo I just finished the book and I was hoping that it would end like that. I just hope it doesnt have the happy ever after ending. Not having it.
-
@SheriffGonzo I'm about 25% through the rum diary. Just got it yesterday. Why would they specifically take out Yeamon? I see the journalist crew as kind of this dysfunctional family and Yeamon overshadows other characters in lasting character image.

@juanitocabezablanca read the book. its brilliant!
Yeamon has been cut out of the film. It'll be interesting to see how the story line goes instead.

whos Yeamon?

Yeamon is a psychopathic character in the book, who in my opinion reflects hunters personality in real life more than the main character depp is playing Paul Kemp.
I'd pin him as one of the 4 main characters of the book and his actions lead to some of the most messed up and hilarious parts. Also the book ends between him and Paul Kemp so the movie will end a lot differently than the book.

thanx dont know that, did you see fear and loathing whats your opinion?

@juanitocabezablanca
Yeah I seen it a lot of times, and read the book maybe just as many. The director of The Rum Diary was originally asked to direct Fear & Loathing, but he said "I don't know how to get that on the screen". Which is a fair point it's a crazy book! But it was done pretty good. Just depends on whether you like using your imagination with the book more or not. Both are enjoyable to watch and read for me.
