Allah is the Arabic word for "God" and has been so long before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The names "Allah" and "God" are generally interchangeable within the Muslim religion and in Middle Eastern cultures.

Some English translations of the Qu'ran (Koran) use the name "God," others use" Allah." This sometimes comes as a surprise to Christians who were raised in Western cultures.

although both Christians, Muslims and Jews firmly believe there is only one God, Christians have the additional doctrine of the Trinity.

Man can become a super man by virtue of the blessings of God but he cannot be a God since,in contrast to the creation,God is uniquely ONE, neither He begets nor is He begotten,and He cannot be conditioned under time, space, shape, beginning or end and by these attributes only He is specifically differentiated from His creation and this is what makes Him GOD. Any violation in the attributes of God makes God less than God and this tends merging God with the creation which,in fact, is a blasphemy.

I am a Christian and the One True God is the God of Israel, The Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is The Great I Am. Knowing the one and only true God of the whole earth can only be traced from the history of the Hebrew People.

The true god speaks Hindi and he is a Hindu -He was here 2000 years before both the Christians and then the Islami's -

What a Joke! Anyway what a religion the Hindus are -No one has managed to subdue them (Power of god?) And today they are a superpower!

Islam is a little child! In front of the Hindu and Bhudist -who by the way put together outnumber the Muslim by a hell of a lot! Just in case you are thinking brotherhoods

Hello sisJolene,

I appreciate your kind response. The difficulty here come from the fact that the NT is an Eastern book, filled with Eastern metaphors and similes. Yet, all the commentators of the Eastern Book, have come from the West. Thus, the Western world is made to see a Jewish Book, written by the Jews for a Jewish audience, through Greek and Western glasses. An Eastern book ought to be read as an Easterner would read and understand it.

Hi: I realize how difficult it is to understand that GOD or JESUS is one. Here are 2 scriptures. Remember, He always told us Hear oh hear oh Israel the Lord thy God is ONE.

John 14:7

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

John 14:9

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

So you think you are a god then? I think not. I would like to point out that I did not name Jesus, Matt 1: And she shall bring forth a child and thou shalt call His name Jesus, The Lord named His Son. Second I know there are a lot of FALSE gods here on this earth the bible is clear on this. But there is only ONE TRUE GOD in heaven and earth and the only one that can save our eternal soul - JESUS!

@sisJolene Any name you give your god is fine, but know that all gods exist and are real. Not your god (christ), nor any other is the only True god. Our purpose is to spread love to all who need it. that is why we come to earth.

@sisJolene God does not begot nor is he begotten. Nowhere in the Quran or the Old Testament did he say " I am god, worship me". He told the Israelites, " My god is your god, WORSHIP HIM AS ONE". You're not supposed to associate any partners with Allah.

...John 17:21 "...that they may be one as We are One". Again, speaking of the believers. So now we see twice that Jesus (PBUH) prays for his followers to be one JUST LIKE (meaning exactly like) Jesus and God are One. So according to your interpretation of John 10:30, when we apply it here, it turns out that somehow, several billions believers will become one entity.

If you actually READ ALL the verses in John 10, you will understand that Jesus meant "one" as in having ONE purpose.
