When Christian Schallert isn't cooking, dressing, sleeping or eating, his 24 square meter (258 square feet) apartment looks like an empty cube. To use a piece of furniture, he has to build it.

Located in Barcelona's hip Born district, the tiny apartment is a remodeled pigeon loft. Christian says its design was inspired by the space-saving furniture aboard boats, as well as the clean lines of a small Japanese home.

  • I would love to have this apartment. So clean and nice. I'm straight and I could DEFINITELY get laid there!

  • really I'm a great fan of things like these, but noone realises that his budget is obviously way bigger than an extremly small house. What's the point of buying a tiny house to save money when you end up spending the money you saved to make it habitable? I love this, but it really isn't for my wallet.

  • I like it for sure

    But sorry

If I have all this money to make like urs

I think its better to remove to a new one with more space

  • @Phersephoie obviously he has some renovation money, and usually in paris, or any european city, its just not possible to have a big space and be central, unless you are a millionaire and can pay out a huge sum every month. plus, he likes the nesting element. in my opinion, and a good one-time investment. he made the right choice!

  • where is washmashine?

  • @Phersephoie

There are reasons besides saving money to live in efficiently sized spaces.

  • @Phersephoie I'm sure to an extent you are right. But bare in mind this is in Spain. So labor and material costs are less then here in the U.S.

  • Interesting and amusing, but might be confusing the issue. It isn't efficiency that's going to count in the long run, it's life. I wonder how long he's going to stay there before he gets tired of efficiency and moves on?

  • I like it! It's a great idea!!

  • "your rice, your noodles" I love you

  • @notoriousnews yup really sets the mood for getting laid.

"i need to use the bathroom" = "ok babes, just open that draw"

"lets take this to the bedroom" = "ok, could you just just stand upfor a moment, I need to pull it out"

& god forbid things get to steamy & rampant, the kitchen might pop out all over the place.
