Maybe my expectations were to high or I simply imagined something different, but after this display was all said and done I was disappointed. Not in Rob Bliss's ability to bring a community together (albeit this time under the banner of ArtPrize) - as an organizer he is unparalleled right now in the Grand Rapids Community (save for Rick DeVos who created the ArtPrize concept).
I was disappointed in the execution of this ArtPrize submission - I imagined 100,000 colored airplanes soaring across the skies - instead I saw large piles of paper dumped over the edges of buildings - some clumps falling to the sky while others floating down to earth and a smaller selection actually flying like paper airplanes.
The concept - although not original was a great one nonetheless - execution on the otherhand, not enough for a thumbs down vote @ArtPrize, but not even close for a thumbs up vote.
