According to a study conducted at Nationwide Children's Hospital, people who would rather have money now as opposed to a higher amount of money later will also be more likely to smoke. This study demonstrates an interesting link between a person's need for instant gratification and their likelihood of smoking, and it also shows the importance of teaching the immediate effects of smoking, rather than just the long-term consequences.
