  • LOL!!!! That was too funny man....good video.

  • Personally, for the combat arm I've been kinda looking into the Barett M468. Its supposed to be exactly like the M4 series but it has a slightly bigger round. I find it somewhat sad that the bolt action rifle has basically been phased out by our means of modern combat. I plan on going to college and doing ROTC then enlisting in the Marines to be a scout sniper. Is there anything my friends and I need to be aware of before we sign the contract?

  • I am also not a big fan of the AR and M16 platform. It was and always will be a marksmanship grade rifle, not a combat weapon. I do not feel that the NATO 5.56 round carries enough punch for a combat arm, However I am quickly becoming a fan of the Sig model 556, though not a great combat ammo, it is compact and lightweight, and fair for taking almost any target with carefully placed rounds. For combat I would have much rather have carried a .308 weapon.

  • My personal favorites definately are the 7.62x51, 12 gauge, 338 lapua magnum, .45 and .9mm. Im not a big fan of the M16/AR15 series because, even though extensive cleaning has been done, they jam a lot. Being in the field and a U.S Marine, what did you think of the M16 and the role it carried out in Iraq. Do you think the 5.56 NATO is enough punch?

  • I personally have three Nagants, two carbine and one 91/30. I've never purchased ammo for them, as I like to keep my supplies limited to what I consider "the basic five". .22, 9mm, 5.56x45, 7.62x39, and 12 gauge. I have fired a few Nagants before, and I like the reach and touch of the Nagant, but I am more than willing to admit that I am a spoiled rotten "semi automatic" brat!

I also like that the range limitations keep me closer to the target in the unlikely event that I have to follow it.

  • I have no problem with the 7.62x39, its just that i prefer larger callibers. Where Im from here in Ohio, we have hills everywhere so this is basically sniper country and larger rifles such as the Mosin Nagant and M40 and much more popular. Glory hunting is for the ignorant in my opinion.
