@goodride2004 What are the name of the full ceramic bearings?
-
@j0j0barz33 the ONLY reason to oil a ceramic bearing is to slow it down and/or quiet it down. ceramic bearings are louder than stainless steel. ceramic bearings will NOT be damaged by running them dry. i do not oil mine. ceramic is much harder, lighter and smoother than steel. you say "a lot of friction". that is incorrect. there is virtually no friction. thats the point of switching from stainless steel to ceramic.

hey i got a ? do u think they have bearings for the daiwa strikforce?? i need to upgrade mine!!
-
Do you have to oil them or what ??

I've read some some forum that the ABEC 7 is an overkill. While casting a lure, the spin of the spool doesn't even go as fast as how much the ABEC 7 can handle, so they mention to go with the ABEC 5. Do you see any differences in distance between the stock and ABEC 7? Have you tried the ABEC 5 also?

lol, orange seal bocas are $50 bro. i found a place that does full ceramic bearings for $100, bocas are hybrid like most reel bearings (steel inner and outer race with ceramic balls).
-
umm can you pm me how to order them? cuz i think i found them but it says a kit, and it comes with like 2 different types and its $50, would be greatly appreciated

so the bearing help your free spool time and smoothness and probably casting right? it doesnt like change the gear ratio right? cuz man id love to get a little edge on performance with these lol
Help me out here.. So, after installing the ABEC 7, do you need to oil it? Or, can you run it dry out of the bag? I fear that running dry might damage it.. or will it not? Thanks!

@Jplicit Yes, it won't necessarily damage it but it relieves a lot of friction and brings out the performance in the bearings.

Before you put the bearings in there you need to soak them in lighter fluid for about 3 hours. Then Put ONE TINY drop of real butter bearing oil, and then put them back in. they will spin alot smoother. Also I dont mean to rude but it looks like your reel needs some cleaning, because if you ask me the reel could spin a little faster. And if you do so happen to clean it Soak all of the brass parts in CLR for 5 hours. and then get a dremal tool with a wire brush attachment to get all the grim off.

@castawayXL Yea lighter fluid sounds like an awful idea, prob just stick with lub. The reel is brand new never b4 used. I got it for christmas so wouldn't have any grass or dried mat in it
