http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/arusipersianwedding/ Set against the turbulent relationship between the U.S. and Iran, Iranian-American filmmaker Marjan Tehrani captures the struggle and excitement of Alex and Heather as they plan a Persian Islamic wedding in Iran. But when Alex's Iranian-born parents and Heather's conservative American father meet for the first time, cultures clash and test the couple to their limits.

In this clip, overwhelmed by culture shock in Iran, an American bride needs to check in with her groom.

ARUSI PERSIAN WEDDING premieres Tuesday, March 17 on Independent Lens, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Terrence Howard, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, Independent Lens is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide. • @persiandudeee just an old saying...

  • @yashaazz Ey betarbiat, ba pedaret injoori harf mizani?

  • @persiandudeee behtare dahanet ro bebandi ta ahmagh nadide bashi

  • @yashaazz Yes, our soldiers married many when we had our empires, but that doesn't mean it's encouraged or alright to marry outside your own now. None can be pro their own people and marry outside their group, I mean guys I understand, but girls no.

  • @persiandudeee I think you misunderstood my statement. I'm saying that Persians historically have married outside their race on many, many instances.

  • @yashaazz You must be on crack. Iranians/Persians ruled arabs, Afghans, and Turks mnuch longer than they ruled us, plus, we're talking about nationality, not race. He's saying anyone who would marry a non-Iranian foreign women is dead to him.

  • @metallica1567 Iranians are a mix in and of themselves... turk, afghan and arab for example, who's to say any other variation is any less valid? Best wishes to the bride and groom :) much love

  • Love is colorblind. (:

  • Cool

  • She is sweet as honey and deserves a happy life,...take her back to her home land where made her this sensible and understanding. At least she can narrate happiness to Iranian youth . Deepest regards to the couple. May your love live long

    in health and in freedom.
