Mark Aiken/ Hyunsung Nam - NYU Music Technology Sound Design - The Ring - "Samara's Cursed Video"

NYU Steinhardt - Music Technology - Audio for Video II Final project. The entire clip was stripped of all sound. Hyunsung and I recorded ALOT of foley for this clip (we also grabbed some clips from sound libraries), did the ADR ourselves (not actors as you can see) and composed original compositions for the music. Hyunsung did the more traditional music cues in the beginning and after the "tape" sequence. Hyunsung used QBase for her compositions. I scored or designed the sound (if you will) for the entire cursed tape sequence. I mainly created my own sounds in Reason along with manipulating pre-recorded sounds in Pro Tools, Soundtrack Pro, and Reason. All final mixing was done using Soundtrack Pro. ENJOY!

Nice! I'm considering the graduate program at NYU for the fall semester. How would you say your experience has been so far (I assume that you are still there?)? Class sizes? Opportunities to work in industry related fields? My main interests are composing and sound design. Thanks and again, nice work!
