ok, I have a 14 year old african grey named mikki, female who HATES my girlfriend. bites her and screams at her every time im near her. any suggestions to calm mikki down and maby one day have them make peace??? she is a VERY happy bird and NEVER bites me or anyone in my family.

@123whatmeworry It's going to take a lot of time & work, but it is possible. Search "Good Bird Inc." and learn about positive reinforcement training. Mikki needs to learn that good things can come from a relationship with your girlfriend. PRT teaches you how to do this. First, you need to learn how. Then, implement it with your parrot. The books and DVD's are wonderful and will help with any behavior issue. Good Luck!

@bozy99 Yes, she learns from us. All parrots have the ability to talk, however some never learn for one reason or another. Interaction, trust, and early socialization have much to do with it.

My bird is so cute and playful but if he doesnt like someone or something yes he will bite them and fly away from them but i mean if we dont like someone then we might want ro bitw them but of course we dont cause we no its wrong but rly she is a bird and if ur girlfriend culd be scared she might be able to sense that idk but i rly hope u dont even think of getting her killed and if she is well natured around u and atleast some other people she hasnt got any problems try and gt
